Building Services Design Engineering (Level 6)
MZA Consulting Engineers is a building services and acoustic design consultancy based in London, and we work with clients throughout the UK and Ireland. As building services engineers, we are responsible for the electrical and mechanical designs for building projects – the infrastructure and systems buildings need to make them safe, comfortable, functional, and efficient.
We are looking for two degree apprentices who have a genuine interest in developing a career within the industry. If successful, you will join our highly reputed team designing mechanical or electrical services in all types of innovative buildings of the future across a wide range of industry sectors.
What will you be doing?
As a degree apprentice, you will be working closely with our engineers and receive on-the-job training to enable you to assist in a wide variety of tasks. This will involve you in all aspects of the work we undertake designing mechanical and electrical building services for projects throughout the UK. The role will include:
What training will you undertake?
This is a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering and you will attend London South Bank University one day per week during term time for the taught element. Four days per week will be spent working for MZA and we anticipate this being flexible working with a minimum of 2 days working from the London office and occasional working from home (where possible).
The anticipated duration for this apprenticeship is 78 months (up to 60 Months Practical Period & up to 18 Months End Point Assessment (EPA)), but this will depend on any previous experience and the time taken to achieve the full range of competencies to complete the EPA. Following successful completion of the EPA, you will achieve a BEng (Hons) in Building Services Engineering as well as Incorporated Engineer status with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
This is a permanent position, and throughout your apprenticeship and on completion of your degree, MZA will be committed to your development and career progression, supporting you as you work towards becoming a fully chartered engineer.
What qualifications do you need?
Please ensure that you have met one of the following minimum grade requirements before applying. We will accept applications with predicted grades that meet these, but any subsequent offer will remain conditional until we have proof of your achieved grades.
Please note, all applicants must hold 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above including Maths and English (previous grading A-C).
