The conversion of the existing library building at the University of Roehampton into a media facility incorporating cinema, film studio, sound studios, seminar and MAC seminar rooms.

The design developed by MZA provided a simplified and robust coordinated strategy that works within the project budget constraints and reduces the maintenance burden for the University. We provided detailed technical information for MEP services to RIBA Stage 4a for the mechanical contractor to use for plant procurement and worked closely with the acoustic consultant to meet very onerous acoustic targets, through detailed plant selections, plant location and services routes.

Owing to the nature of the existing building, no BREEAM or EPC targets were set, but the new MEP design targets important energy savings for the University.
