Joti joined MZA in 2017 as a Graduate Engineer with a BEng (Hons) in Architectural Environment Engineering and she is currently studying for an MSc in Building Services Engineering.
Joti is developing her project experience and technical capability across all sectors and working closely with engineers to provide essential project support.
Nick has been working in the industry for consultants for over 15 years and has worked with AutoCAD 2D from the outset and now 3D Revit since 2010. In this time, he has worked on many projects, including; local authority primary and secondary schools, along with university projects; renovations and extensions to EPH buildings; and extensions and new build prisons and hospitals, as well as commercial and leisure facilities. Nick has worked in collaboration with teams of architects and structural engineers on the UK’s first ever BIM bid for the Ministry of Justice, and more recently with multi-discipline teams on educations projects all working in Revit for a local authority.
Nick has worked with most of the MZA team throughout his career and, like them, takes pride and shows commitment to his work, helping the team to be efficient and uphold the MZA principles.
Christopher is a co-founder member of MZA and worked alongside Michael and Daren for over 9 years at a large international engineering consultancy. During his career Christopher has developed and established a reputation as a trusted advisor to clients and design leader amongst his peers and led the multi-disciplinary design of projects with building services values in excess of £50m.
Throughout Christopher’s career he has successfully delivered a broad spectrum of projects ranging from small scale refurbishment programmes to large-scale engineering infrastructure upgrade projects in live critical environments at all project stages.
Christopher has an integrated and inclusive approach to building services consulting which has ensured his teams have consistently delivered innovative and technically excellent solutions and gained the trust of clients and wider project team members at all stages of projects.
Durgesh joined MZA as a Mechanical Associate in 2015, having previously worked alongside Michael and Chris at a major global consultant.
Durgesh is a chartered engineer with 20 years’ experience in the building services industry, including international projects working alongside developers, end user clients and contractors.
With his holistic approach and dedication to collaborative working, Durgesh has significant experience in leading and delivering office/commercial, education, healthcare, leisure, listed/historic buildings, social housing and high end residential projects from inception through to handover.
Durgesh firmly believes in continual improvement and assists with the development of younger engineers and also keeps a keen interest in other building services disciplines.
Durgesh has corporate memberships from CIBSE and ASHRAE.
Baker joined MZA as an Electrical Design Engineer in 2018. Baker has been working as an electrical service engineer for over four years. He has been heavily involved on several key projects from a variety of sectors such as educational, residential, energy and aviation.
Baker has obtained key experience and designed crucial systems relating to building services such as LV distribution, small power, standby generations, UPS, lightning protection, lighting design and fire alarm. Baker has demonstrated key managerial skills, taking the leadership role of leading electrical engineer on several projects. He has demonstrated great communication skills, liaised with a number of people from different disciplines and businesses, while delivering clear and practical design solutions.
Baker is a motivated, adaptable and responsible team member with a clear and practical approach to problem solving and a drive to see projects through to successful completion.
Graham was formerly a Technical Director for an international multi-disciplinary consultancy and managed a team of over 15 acousticians. Graham has also managed an acoustics team for a multi-disciplinary consultancy in Perth, Australia, and went on to lead multiple specialist consultancy services.
He has over fifteen years’ experience in the field of acoustics, gained on a variety architectural, environmental and building commissions. These cover a wide range of projects and clients, including industrial, commercial residential and education sectors.
Graham has experience of managing large and small projects in Australia, UK, US, Dubai, Qatar, Libya and across Europe.
Joe joined MZA as an Electrical Engineer in 2015. With an MEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Joe has experience across industries and, with a concern for the rapid depletion of natural resources, has developed interests within energy performance and saving techniques. Joe applied this interest to practical experience while working in the water treatment industry during a two and a half year period in Australia, gaining an understanding of the processes involved in water treatment in harsh climates.
Joe uses this practical experience gained through industry, in conjunction with engineering theory and personal drive, to improve sustainable development in the UK.
Daren has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, 10 years in contracting and 20 years within major global, small and medium-sized consultancies. Daren is a technically strong Mechanical Engineer and is actively involved with projects from inception through to post completion.
With particular experience in the education, commercial and residential sectors, Daren leads projects for developers, end users, main contractors and building engineering services specialists.
Daren is absolutely client focused and his proactive and flexible approach lends itself to team working and achieving the best outcome. Daren has an ability to focus on the detail and the bigger picture and has history of successfully setting up and leading project delivery.
A keen supporter of developing the MZA team, Daren works closely with the engineers to develop their skills and abilities in project delivery.
Laura joined MZA as a Mechanical Engineer in April 2015, having worked alongside Mike and Chris at a major global multi-disciplinary consultancy. Laura has 10 years’ experience in the building services industry within Ireland & the UK, with significant experience in Office/Commercial, Education, Leisure, Residential & Custodial projects.
With a strong commitment to the industry, Laura is a Member of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland. Laura has a particular interest in renewable technologies and low carbon design strategies and obtained an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems in 2015. In June 2017, Laura was appointed director of the Dublin office.
Throughout her career, Laura has been involved with and helped deliver a broad spectrum of projects, ranging from small scale refurbishment programmes to large-scale engineering projects. With her enthusiasm for engineering and project delivery, she leads by example, encouraging team members to strive for technical excellence, continual improvement and personal development.
Sinan joined the MZA team in 2018 as a Mechanical Engineer and holds an MEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, with over four and a half years of experience within the building services industry. He has worked on a variety of projects, across multiple sectors, including high-end residential buildings, innovative workplaces, airports and research & science projects.
Starting his career as a graduate engineer, Sinan has gained extensive experience working for a major UK consultancy, where he was responsible for delivering tender packages across all design stages, attending design team meetings with multiple disciplines and witnessing commissioned systems on-site against design intent.
Sinan is determined to bring a passion and enthusiasm for problem solving into the industry, to drive successful project delivery that meets the needs of the client. He is currently working towards Chartered status (CEng) with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers.
Matthew joined MZA as an Electrical Engineer in 2018 having worked previously for a similar multi-disciplinary consultancy in London.
With over 8 years practical experience as a time-served apprentice, Matthew completed a BEng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the University of Greenwich and has over 3 years consultancy experience.
Matthew has gained valuable knowledge and experience from working within the healthcare sector in areas such as electrical infrastructure resilience, UPS/IPS support, A&E refurbishments and department upgrades, and has a passion for implementing resilient and improved electrical designs into new and existing buildings.
Martin held a senior position within his former company, leading and managing a team of over 50 acousticians over a period of 5 years.
Martin also served on the board of Directors for the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC), a key industry trade body for acoustic consultancy practices in the UK and is currently actively involved in the Institute of Acoustics, the UK’s professional body for those working in acoustics, noise and vibration.
In his time in the industry, Martin has gained significant experience in working on a wide variety of high profile property and infrastructure projects and has a strong track record in providing pragmatic, commercially focussed acoustic design solutions.
As a co-founder member of MZA Consulting Engineers, Michael has wide experience in design, construction, management and delivery of M & E projects. He started his career with the Royal Engineers, serving in a variety of roles for 14 years. On leaving, he joined Kier Major Projects as a site-based Senior Electrical Engineer, before joining WSP in 2003 as a Senior Electrical Engineer.
During his 11 year career with WSP, Michael progressed to Regional Director, responsible for building services teams across three offices. Michael personally developed and led WSPs custodial sector capability, delivering over £500m worth of projects across an 8 year period.
Michael has a particular expertise in the development of prefabricated services strategies and their integration into traditional and prefabricated structures.
Michael uses his enthusiasm for engineering and project delivery in his team leadership style to lead by example, encouraging team members to strive for technical innovation, continual improvement and personal development.

Tom joined MZA as an Undergraduate Engineer in 2015 and was promoted to Engineer in 2016, having worked previously alongside Michael & Chris during a technical apprenticeship with a major global consultancy.
Tom recently gained a BEng (Hons) in Building Services Engineering and, in his career to date, Tom has gained experience in a variety of sectors including education, commercial and residential.
Tom works closely with engineers to provide essential project support while developing his own technical capability and experience.

Public Health Engineer
Peter has over 25 years’ experience in environmental engineering design of buildings across all market sectors. In 2005 Peter became Principal of the Public Health Group for a major UK consultancy where he was responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of public health and building services infrastructure projects.
Outward looking in approach, Peter has gained the trust of clients and design teams alike to successfully deliver complex large scale projects. In recent years he has designed a number of 50-70 storey residential towers in the UK and has presented to the industry on this topic on many occasions.
He was a contributing author to the current CIPHE Plumbing Engineering Services Design Guide and believes in the increasing importance of water conservation and water recycling in the design and operation of buildings.
Malcolm joined the MZA team in 2016 as a Mechanical Engineer and holds a BEng (Hons) in Energy and Environmental Engineering and an MSc in Building Services Engineering.
His previous position in the Estates Department at Canterbury Christchurch University enabled Malcolm to gain extensive experience of working in customer-focused roles and he has a broad and practical knowledge of the built environment, with a particular passion for sustainable building services design.
Malcolm is currently in the process of joining the Institute of Mechanical Engineers as an Associate Engineer and will then be working towards Chartered status.

Georgie joined MZA as an Electrical Engineer in 2015. With a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MSc in Building Services Engineering, Georgie has over 4 years’ experience working within multi-disciplinary design teams.
Having gained experience in different sectors including education, commercial, residential and retail, Georgie has a keen interest in electrical designs for buildings and integrating new and innovative technologies for future sustainable building designs.
